Counselling is not really about telling you what to do, it is more about helping you to help yourself.
Within the Counselling environment and with my help, you can decide on the best way forward for you. I will draw on different models of therapy to help you, such as Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis (TA), Mindfulness and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).
Despite the fancy names, these therapies can really help you to understand your issues.
I like to also approach your situation from a practical view and so do not just look at your presenting issues, but perhaps more importantly, look at the causes and what are the factors that are feeding into it, thereby prolonging you situation and causing continued distress.
For myself, I have experienced therapy before, so I do know what it feels like to sit in the opposite chair, and most importantly, the benefits of Counselling.
I have wide experience of many of life’s issues such as divorce, bereavement, redundancy, unemployment, retirement, moving to another part of the country, step-families, disputes and arbitration, plus many other issues.
In previous occupations, which were highly demanding managerial positions, I have also experienced over many years how much the workplace has changed, how the demands on people have increased substantially with ever decreasing resources and the toll that this takes on employees, including management.
I have been Counselling since 2008. This was firstly in the voluntary charity sector before setting up my own private practice. Please view the different pages on this website which deal with what qualifications I own, my charges, where I mostly practice and the services which I offer.
